NZ market up on Wednesday

The New Zealand sharemarket was up on Wednesday.

The benchmark NZ50 rose 12 points to 3280 on turnover of $61 million.

In currency markets at 5.20pm, the NZ dollar was at 81.03 US, 77.05 Australian cents, 51.92 pence, 63.18 yen and 0.6225 euro.

The Trade Weighted Index was at 71.85.

Fletcher Building closed up 9 cents at $6.35, Telecom was up 5 cents to $2.135, Chorus was up 3 cents to $3.18 and Contact was Energy up 1 cent to $4.77.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was down 5 cents at $2.18, Auckland Aiport was up 1 cent to $2.51 and The Warehouse was down 7 cents to $3.03.

Sky City Entertainment was up 5 cents to $3.56, and Sky Network TV was down 11 cents to $5.17.

Air NZ was down 0.5 cents to 88.5 cents after saying it will scale back flights to London due to weaker demand and Vector was unchanged at $2.56.

Steel and Tube Holdings was up 5 cents at $2.27 and Rakon was up 1 cent to 57 cents.

Abano Healthcare was up 10 cents to $4.10 and Xero was up 14 cents to $2.55.

OceanaGold was down 6 cents to $2.95, Freightways was down 3 cents to $3.62 and NZX was down 10 cents to $2.61.
