A rāhui has been placed near Eastbourne in Wellington, after the body of missing man, Terrence Jameson, was pulled from the water on Monday.

The rāhui was in effect from Lion's Rock heading out to Mākaro/Ward Island then diagonally south towards the point closest to Lake Kōhangapiripiri.

Te Āti Awa iwi asks that kaimoana not be taken and recreational activities not take place in the area until the rāhui was lifted at 7am on Saturday morning.

On Tuesday evening an iwi representative performed karakia where Jameson was located at Point Arthur.
