The troubled Interislander ferry Kaitaki has been taken out of service after new engineering woes.
Kaitaki suffered a dangerous breakdown earlier this year when it lost power and drifted in Cook Strait.

Interislander said all the passengers who were booked for the Kaitaki will be moved to different ferries and other vessels will make extra sailings.
The Interislander service has had repeated problems with ferries in recent months.
