Samoa first female Ombudsman has taken her oath of office after her appointment in February.
Luamanuvao Katalaina Sapolu replaces Maiava Iulai Toma, who had held the position for 27 years.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, Luamanuvao Katalaina challenged women to work hard for high achievements in whatever profession they are.
Luamanuvao, who is a lawyer by profession, had been the Director of the Commonwealth Secretariat's Rule of Law division.
She is the sister of the former Chief Justice Patu Falefatu Sapolu.
