China has sent 48 containers filled with equipment and supplies for July's Pacific Games to Samoa.

The Samoan government praised China's generosity after the arrival of the containers this week.
Samoa is hosting the event for which China has sent 87 vehicles, sports gear and fireworks.
China is also helping to construct and renovate sports fields and gymnasiums for the event.
Samoa received donations of vehicles from China when it hosted the Pacific Forum leaders meeting in Apia in 2017, as well as the Small Island States conference five years ago.
