No funding to fill hundreds of teacher vacancies in Vanuatu

Vanuatu's Teaching Service Commission says it can't afford to pay for enough trained teachers and school leavers are being brought in to fill the gaps.

The Commisson says three-thousand trained teachers are currently employed.

But about 350 more are needed - predominantly in primary schools in remote areas.
