Finance Minister Bill English wants clarification on a proposal for a nine-day working fortnight put forward at last Friday's job summit.
A suggestion that the Government subsidise training for employees who opt for a nine-day fortnight was one of 20 recommendations to come out of the summit.
Mr English says there are conflicting expections about the proposal and he'd like to get to the bottom of what was meant.
He expects that to happen in subsequent discussions taking place.
Mr English says the Government has no intention of subsidising the 10th day of everyone's fortnight, but says there may be some opportunities for training.
