Southland are back on top of the national provincial rugby table after a fifth straight win, beating Tasman 21-16 in Blenheim on Friday night.
Southland first-five Robbie Robinson was the difference, the versatile utility back kicking seven penalties from eight attempts.
It was 6-6 at half-time.
Tasman winger Blair Cook dotted down for the game's only try four minutes from the final whistle.
