One of Christchurch's earthquake authorities has appointed a new boss to replace the outgoing director, Warwick Isaacs.
Baden Ewart has been made interim director of the Christchurch Central Development Unit.
Acting chief executive of the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority John Ombler said the appointment would ensure the unit's work continued smoothly.
Mr Ewart was Mr Isaacs' second-in-command throughout the demolition phase and, more recently, had been a deputy director of the unit.
The authority's legislation would expire in April 2016, and work was underway to hand responsibility for the region's recovery back to local government bodies - Christchurch City Council, Selwyn District Council and Waimakariri District Council.
