New Zealand's deputy prime minister Winston Peters is to meet Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare this evening.
Mr Peters' visit to Honiara comes a day after Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison travelled to the capital to announce $A250 million in grant financing to the Solomons over 10 years.
Winston Peters is leading a parliamentary and business delegation of over 50 people and will meet Manasseh Sogavare and also foreign affairs minister Jeremiah Manele during his two-day stay.
Mr Peters will also visit the Forum Fisheries Agency and meet with youth representatives.
There is no indication that the visit will produce anything of the scale of Scott Morrison's announcement, however Mr Peter is continuing the implementation of his government's so-called Pacific reset.
And he is scheduled to sign a statement of partnership with the Solomons government.
The delegation will travel to Vanuatu on Thursday.
