NZ and Australian markets up

The New Zealand and Australian stock markets were up at close on Friday.

By 5.07pm the NZX50 was up 3 points to 3289 on a turnover of $70 million.

Across the Tasman, the ASX 200 was up 14 points to 4196.

The New Zealand dollar was trading at 83.72 US cents, 77.66 Australian cents, 52.97 pence, 66.20 yen, 0.6376 euro and the Trade Weighted Index was at 73.75.

Fletcher Building was down 7 cents to $6.42, Telecom was down 2 cents to $2.14, Chorus was down 3 cents at $3.25 and Contact was unchanged at $4.79.

Sky City Entertainment was up 4 cents to $3.67 and Sky Television up 6 cents to $5.01.

Tower was down 1 cent to $1.43 and Michael Hill was up 3 cents to 92 cents.
