Latest - Eight-time champion Roger Federer needed all of his quality and resilience to dash British number two Cameron Norrie's hopes of causing a big upset in the Wimbledon third round.
Federer, 39, has had little court time over the past 16 months but played well enough to win 6-4 6-4 5-7 6-4.
One of the form players in 2021, Norrie could not find a sustained high level against the 20-time major champion.
The Swiss goes on to face Italy's Lorenzo Sonego in the last 16.
Meanwhile, fourth seed Alexander Zverev beat American Taylor Fritz 6-7(3) 6-4 6-3 7-6(4) to reach the fourth round and match his best performance at the grasscourt Grand Slam.
The German, who reached the round of 16 at the All England Club in 2017, kept his unforced errors low and repeatedly tested the serve of the 31st-seeded American, who underwent surgery less than a month ago after suffering a knee injury at Roland Garros.
Next up for the German will be Canadian 16th seed Felix Auger-Aliassime, who advanced to the round of 16 when Australian Nick Kyrgios retired with an injury.

England cricketer to return to play after racist and sexist tweets
England fast bowler Ollie Robinson has been cleared to resume playing, after he was deemed to have served a ban over racist and sexist comments he made on social media as a teenager, a Cricket Discipline Commission (CDC) said.
The 27-year-old was fined more than $4000 and handed an eight-game ban, five of which are suspended for two years. He missed England's second test against New Zealand and two T20 Blast games for his county during an investigation over the comments on Twitter.
The initial one-game suspension was imposed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), before Robinson withdrew himself from selection for his county side Sussex for the T20 games.
Robinson has admitted to breaching two ECB directives in relation to a number of offensive comments he made on Twitter in 2012-14 that came to light during his England debut in the drawn first test against New Zealand in June.
"I fully accept the CDC's decision. As I have said previously, I'm incredibly embarrassed and ashamed about the tweets I posted many years ago and apologise unreservedly for their contents," Robinson said in a statement.
"I am deeply sorry for the hurt I caused to anyone who read those tweets and in particular to those people to whom the messages caused offence. This has been the most difficult time in my professional career for both my family and myself.
"Whilst I want to move on, I do want to use my experience to help others in the future through working with the (Professional Cricketers Association)."

Nuggets and Bulls prevail in NBL
The Otago Nuggets are still in the hunt for a berth at the NBL Final 4 after grabbing a 94-88 over the Hawke's Bay Hawks.
The start of the game was delayed by 10 minutes after a blown fuse left the stadium in darkness.
The opening period ended at 21-21 as both teams struggled to find their stroke in the ice-cold conditions, but soon after it was the Nuggets who caught fire quickest as they raced to a 48-36 lead at the half after a 27-15 second quarter.
The Hawks fought back in the third quarter, winning the period 36-26, and setting up a tight fourth quarter.
Isaiah Moss showed his class to pace the home team with 31 points in the win and Devondrick Walker with 23 points was the best for the visitors.
Meanwhile, the Franklin Bulls staged a final quarter comeback to snatch a 101-99 victory over the Taranaki Mountainairs.
Manel Ayol led the Bulls with 31 points, including three clutch threes down the stretch, and brought down six rebounds while Denhym Brooke stuffed the stat sheet with 17 points, 11 rebounds, a pair of steals and six blocks in his best game of the campaign.
Import Marcel Jones powered the Airs offense with a game-high 39 points.
Defending champion takes lead in Tour de France
Defending champion Tadej Pogacar put the hammer down on the Tour de France as he claimed the overall leader's yellow jersey with a vintage ride on the eighth stage, a 150.8-km Alpine trek from Oyonnax to Le Grand Bornand.
The young Slovenian attacked on the penultimate ascent of the day, the Col de Romme, to distance all his rivals in a long-range move reminiscent of racing in the 1980s, as Belgian Dylan Teuns won the day's laurels from the early breakaway.
Pogacar was fourth on the stage behind Spain's Ion Izaguirre and Canadian Michael Woods, who were second and third respectively, 49 seconds off the pace but with an advantage of more than three minutes on all his rivals for the general classification.
Last year's runner-up Primoz Roglic of Slovenia and Briton Geraint Thomas, the 2018 champion, were distanced early on and have pretty much zero chance of a podium finish in Paris, having suffered crashes in the first days of racing.
Overall, Pogacar leads Belgian Wout van Aert by one minute 48 seconds and Kazakhstan's Alexey Lutsenko by 4:38

Athletes allowed to protest at Olympics
Rules around athletes protesting at Tokyo 2020 have been relaxed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Athletes will be able to "express their views" before and after competing but cannot do so during events, victory ceremonies and at the Olympic Village.
Any gesture cannot be "targeted, directly or indirectly, against people, countries, organisations and/or their dignity".
It means athletes can take the knee before an event.
They can also "express their views" when speaking to the media, during news conferences and on social media.
However, any protest is not allowed to be "disruptive", including unfurling a flag or banner during "the introduction of another athlete or team".
"The new guidelines are a result of our extensive consultation with the global athletes' community," said Kirsty Coventry, chair of the IOC's athletes commission.
"While the guidelines offer new opportunities for athletes to express themselves prior to the competition, they preserve the competitions on the field of play, the ceremonies, the victory ceremonies and the Olympic Village.
"This was the wish of a big majority of athletes in our global consultation."
The IOC said the consultation process "started in June 2020 and involved over 3,500 athletes representing 185 different NOCs (National Olympic Committees) and all 41 Olympic sports, and ensured fully gender-equal representation".

Welsh fullback injured in milestone match
Rampant Wales ran in 10 tries to thump Canada 68-12 in their mid-year international in Cardiff, but a 100th test appearance for fullback Leigh Halfpenny lasted only 30 seconds before he went off with what looked a serious injury.
Halfpenny was visibly upset as he was stretchered from the field after his knee appeared to give way when he tried to launch a counter-attack, and before any Canadian player had tackled him.
There will be concern as to how long the 32-year-old may be sidelined. He was ruled out of the 2015 Rugby World Cup after rupturing an anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in a warm-up game against Italy, which saw him missing for over a year.
Halfpenny's misfortune will overshadow what was an impressive win for a Wales side missing 10 players on duty for the British and Irish Lions in South Africa, as well as injured captain Alun Wyn Jones among a number of other absentees.
Canada took the lead following a try for wing Kainoa Lloyd, but there was never any prospect of an upset as Wales streaked into a 40-5 lead at halftime.
