The Samoa netball team is looking forward to locking horns with a Jamaica team in transition in their Netball World Cup opener this Friday.
Samoa arrive in Sydney on Wednesday and will have one training session before playing a warm-up game against Uganda the following day.
Samoa, who are currently ranked 13th, are expecting a tough encounter against the Jamaicans.
The coach Marcia Hardcastle says Caribbean teams tend to play an aerial style but is expecting them to look a little different now they have former Australian coach Jill McIntosh in charge
"They've got some good height there, I think they'll bring probably a taste of the Australian style, a flatter ball, so I think it will be interesting to see what they provide out on court."
Marcia Hardcastle says five of the current squad have previous World Cup experience.
