American Samoa is in danger of losing a 50,000 US dollar grant if a plan to build a McDonalds fastfood restaurant in a National Park goes ahead.
The territory has applied to the Land and Water Conservation Fund Project Grant for funds.
But the National Park Service says that while the Territory's outdoor recreation plan does involve the redevelopment of the Utulei Beach Park it does not include a McDonald's to be built in that area.
