Speaking at today's media briefing, Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield said the risk posed by the case was seen as low as the student had been isolating for the past 10 days.
They were tested around day 11 because they became symptomatic.
Dr Bloomfield said a small number of household contacts are being followed up. The student is one of 98 who have been followed up with day 12 testing and 96 have come back negative, with the last test being done today.
He said the student initially tested negative.
There were 19 community cases reported today after 45 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in the community yesterday.
