An Auckland man has been arrested after allegedly fleeing from police in a stolen vehicle in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The vehicle failed to stop for police after driving in a suspicious manner along Mapau Road in Greenlane, just after 3am.
Police said the 30-year-old driver tried to get away on foot but officers tracked and arrested him.
They said the man was a known gang associate.
He had been charged with unlawfully taking a motor vehicle and failing to stop.
