Broncos could lose two players for opening playoff round

18:43 pm on 5 September 2011

The likely loss of a couple of key players shouldn't hurt the Brisbane Broncos too much as they prepare to take on the New Zealand Warriors in the first round of the National Rugby League play-offs this weekend.

During yesterday's 18-10 win over Manly, the Broncos young fullback and Player of the Year last year Josh Hoffman limped off after only 14 minutes with a possible season-ending knee injury which will be scanned today, and Sam Thaiday faces an anxious wait after being reported for a lifting tackle.

It was the 6th straight win for the Bronco's and their winger Jharal Yow Yeh says it was just what they needed.

A record crowd turned up at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane yesterday to cheer on Darren Lockyer in his last regular season game for the Broncos.

The Warriors sealed 6th spot with an 18-6 win over North Queensland in Auckland on Saturday night.
