How do New Zealanders feel about spending another week in lockdown?

Checkpoint reporter Nita Blake-Persen has been speaking with locals in Auckland's Grey Lynn park.

Some residents thought it was a good decision by the government.

"I think is the right thing to do to be honest, we're still finding positive cases every day. So until that's zero, I think we should probably stay in lockdown," one said.

"I think probably another one or two weeks would be really, really good. I'm quite happy to stay at home in our little bubble," another said.

"I would have been happy for them to push it out another couple of weeks, to be honest. I think they've been very clear in the communications all the way through," a third said.

But there were concerns of people getting worn out by staying indoors and small businesses suffering.

"I wouldn't like extended it beyond probably Monday of next week, for the fact that I think there's a lot of fatigue getting out there," one local said.
