The Cook Island's Rugby sevens manager, Anthony Turua, is upbeat about the teams chances at the Wellington leg of the International Rugby Board sevens this weekend.

The Cook Islands who came close to making the main final in Wellington last year after their surprise win over England 21-17 failed to continue on.

But Turua says this year they have a new look side which he's confident will perform a lot better.

"Now we've got a new coach, new structure, new template so the whole workout is quite different from last year so I think the ultimate goal is that if we play well we've just to maintain that momentum."
