One person has been found dead after a car was found at the bottom of a gully in south Canterbury.
Police were called at 12.40pm today when a vehicle was found at the bottom of a gully off Clarkesfield Road at Elephant Hill.
The deceased person appears to be the sole occupant, they said.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
In a separate incident, a person injured when a car crashed into a bank in Morrinsville today has died.
Police were called to the scene on Piako Rd at about 3pm today.
Enquiries into the crash are ongoing.
