One person has died after an incident with an SUV in Canterbury over the weekend.

Police were called in the early hours of Sunday morning to an unresponsive person in a vehicle near Rolleston, just outside of Christchurch.
A St John spokesperson says they were taken to Christchurch hospital in a critical condition on sunday.
Police have today confirmed the person has died.
The death has been referred to the Coroner and an investigation into the circumstances is ongoing.
