The postal and telecommunications staff in Wallis and Futuna have joined a public sector strike.
Local television reports that the OPT premises remained shut today.
The strike was first launched at the beginning of last week by about 30 top administrators who want to have their competencies recognised and be reclassified as French public servants.
On Thursday, they added roadblocks at the main adminstration complex.
They said they were fed up and wanted a mediator as they reject any further negotiations with the French prefect, Jean-Francis Treffel.
He has been in Paris and is due back tomorrow.
The strike coincides with another strike of firefighters who stopped work to back claims for better employment conditions and to express their concern about the service's budget.
