Several local employees in American Samoa who are affected by the United States federal shutdown say they will be looking for part-time jobs if the crisis continues.
About a half a dozen affected employees who spoke to KHJ News are upset at the politics in Washington, which has forced them to stay home and not earn any money.
One federal employee says it's a failure of political leaders to come together and compromise.
He says both Republicans and Democrats have to realise that the problem is the fault of both their parties.
He says the problem is felt especially in American Samoa where so many services depend on the federal government.
The employees say they would rather be at work, and are worried about supporting their families.
