Last chance for Young Ferns to register world cup win

06:12 am on 4 November 2008

After two hard fought losses the New Zealand side hopes to chalk up its first win at it's final match of the under-17 women's football world cup, when they play South American champions Colombia in Wellington tonight.

After narrow losses to Canada and Denmark, the Young Ferns are out of contention for the quarterfinals but coach Paul Temple says there was a long list of motivating factors for his side's last game.

Temple says the side has worked hard over the past two years and want something to show for that.

He says while his side can't advance the Colombians must win to qualify so he expects a very attacking match.

The match kicks off at 7pm.
