Russia has named a new ambassador to Fiji.
In a statement published in Moscow, President Vladimir Putin has appointed Alexey Pavlovski to the post.
This comes a week after Mr Pavlovski was named as the new Russian ambassador to Australia, with responsibility also for diplomatic ties with Vanuatu, Nauru and Tuvalu.
Mr Pavlovski has been heading the Russian foreign ministry section dealing with countries in the Caucasus, including the two Georgian break-away republics Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
The previous ambassador to Canberra Grigory Logvinov was dismissed on 3 April according to a decree by Mr Putin.
