Environmental campaigners are thrilled by the government's decision to put cameras on 300 inshore fishing boats, and stop fish -- and anything else caught at sea -- being dumped overboard. Auckland University fisheries researcher Dr Glenn Simmons told Nine to Noon these are the biggest changes to fisheries management in a century. "We had this crazy situation where fisherman were obliged by law, they had to dump small fish like snapper," he said. The changes meant that would no longer be the case, he said.
