Canterbury police are investigating an alleged kidnapping in Christchurch yesterday afternoon.
Detective Senior Sergeant David Harvey says the police believe the victim, a man in his 20s, was taken from one residential property in eastern Christchurch to another.
Police have provided few details about what happened but Mr Harvey said the man suffered minor facial injuries during an assault.
He said a number of people were helping police with their enquiries.
