Official figures show prices rose by 2.2 percent in the year to February, led by higher prices for fruit and vegetables, and dairy products.
Carrot prices rose by 50 percent to more than $3.50 a kilo, while apples and butter rose by a third.
Meat prices declined due to lower chicken and pork prices.
For the month of February, food prices rose by 0.2 percent, compared with 2.8 the month before.
Food prices make up about a fifth of the overall consumer inflation measure.
