New Caledonia's Congress observed a minute's silence on Wednesday to honour four people who died in Saturday's plane crash on Lifou.
The cause of the crash of the four-seater plane is still unknown.
Three of the victims were air traffic control staff from the airport in Lifou, and the fourth was a visitor from France.
The accident has affected flights as the three controllers were the only ones on duty on Lifou.
President Thierry Santa is reported as suggesting that retired air traffic controllers be asked to step in.
Investigators from France are on the scene.
