The House of Representatives in the Northern Marianas has passed another bill appropriating $US8.3 million to address the mold and air-conditioning issues of the judiciary's main building.

The funding measure also includes a US$1.3 million payment for telco Docomo Pacific for laying underwater fibre optic cable to the islands of Tinian and Rota.

The House earlier passed a spending package to cover the costs but the measure ping-ponged between the House and Senate because of amendments.

The mold and air-conditioning issue has caused the judiciary building to close for more than a month and forced hearings into adjacent buildings.
