The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) is defending a decision to send two senior staff on a trade mission to India and Sri Lanka.
In a statement, the authority said it was invited to join a six-day New Zealand trade mission to India and Sri Lanka in November last year, led by Minister of Primary Industries Nathan Guy.
It is understood the authority paid for CERA Deputy Chief Executive of Communications Mike Shatford and CERA Team Leader for Events and Visits Michael Henstock to go on the trip.
All questions about the cost of the trip have been referred to the Official Information Act.
