The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands has a new Governor and Lieutenant Governor.
Arnold Palacios and David Apatang were officially sworn into office today in the capital, Saipan.
Palacios is the 10th Governor of the CNMI while Apatang is the 13th Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth.
Following the ceremony, Palacios spoke with the local media saying he's ready to lead the country.
"Well, we're officially sworn in and so help us God and we ask our Lord for His guidance and lead the Commonwealth - it's surreal but we will work very hard."
Outgoing Governor, Ralph Torres said after spending 15 years in politics he looks forward to spending more time with his family.
