Police investigate sudden death in Dunedin

Police are investigating a sudden death in Dunedin, but say they do not believe there is any ongoing safety risk to the public.

Emergency services were called to a serious incident on Hillary Street in Liberton, about 9am.

Police are currently treating the death as unexplained.

A cordon is in place and residents can expect to see an increase police presence in the area.

Police are asking anyone with information or who may have seen anything unusual on Hillary Street since Sunday to contact them.
