The vice-president of American Samoa's development bank will step down to take up a new role in charge of the government employees' retirement fund.
Iaulualo Faafetai Talia is also a former vice speaker of the House of Representatives and deputy treasurer for the territory's government.
The fund's former director, Luatua Filisouaiga Taafua, was forced to take leave in July after a criminal investigation was launched into improprieties in the fund's spending.
