Tokelau's new ulu, or leader, wants to standardise the national language and overhaul the territory's public service.
Kelihiano Kalolo unveiled a new strategic plan for this year at Tokelau's parliamentary meeting earlier this month, when he was appointed ulu.
Mr Kalolo spoke to Mackenzie Smith about what he hopes to achieve in his term.
