The Hawke's Bay rugby coach Peter Russell says his side is lacking some finesse in this year's provincial rugby competition which has them third to last in the standings.
Semi-finalists the last two seasons, Hawke's Bay have just one win and two draws from eight matches.
Russell says there are a few things they're not doing this year.
Hawkes Bay play third placed Taranaki in Napier this weekend.
Southland top the table with 30 points, Auckland and Taranaki have 27, Canterbury 26, Wellington 25 and Waikato 22.
