Pacific teams exit IRB inaugural five nations happy with the tournament

Samoa and Fiji went out in style in the final round of the International Rugby Board's inaugural Pacific five ntions rugby union tournament.

At Gosford in Australia Samoa demolished the homeside Tonga 36-nil, running in five tries to secure second place, behind the Junior All Blacks.

Michael Jones' side who spluttered through the first three rounds, clicked in this game after half time, producing their best rugby of the competition in a pulsating second half that saw them run in four very good tries.

And in Osaka Japan, Fiji ended their campaign on a high note beating Japan 29-15 in Osaka.

Fiji led 15-3 at halftime and without winger Rupeni Cancau, scored two tries in the final ten minutes.
