A minimum three week National Rugby League ban could be imposed on Brisbane forward Ben Te'o after he was charged with dangerous contact, for his shoulder charge which knocked out Wests Tigers prop Matt Groat.
Groat was knocked unconscious by the hit in last Friday night's loss to the Broncos and he's already been ruled out of the Tigers' match with Penrith this weekend.
The NRL says it's comfortable with its rules regarding the shoulder charge despite growing push for the style of tackle, which is illegal in rugby union, to be banned as dangerous.
South Sydney and Kiwis forward Roy Asotasi is the only other player charged from the weekend's games, being charged with a careless high tackle.
Asotasi will be sidelined for much of the season with a pectoral injury, however he will escape suspension regardless of his plea.
