New Zealand's Vaughan Scott has lost his first-round bout in the taekwando competition at the London Olympics.
The 22-year-old Aucklander was competing in the under 80kg division and beaten by Sebastian Eduardo Crismanich from Argentina 9-5 at the ExCel centre on Friday.
Crismanich won the first round 6-2, mainly owing to a defensive kick that earned him four points.
However, the New Zealander was aggressive and rebounded well in the second round, winning 3-2.
Vaughn, ranked 18th in the world, needed a big third round but couldn't make an impact on the seventh seed Argentinian, losing 1-0.
