Off the back of her latest album The Hope Six Demolition, PJ Harvey has announced that she will be heading to New Zealand for two shows in late January.
She’ll play Auckland’s Logan Campbell Centre on 24 January before heading to Wellington for a show at the Michael Fowler Centre the following night. She’s also said to be bringing a full 10-piece band with her for the trip.
The Hope Six Demolition – Harvey’s ninth album and first in five years – sees her set her focus on conflict and controversy. It was penned after visits to Kosovo, Afghanistan and Washington D.C. over the past few years, and it takes its name from Hope VI, the highly criticised plan to transform the worst public housing areas in the US.
Tickets to both New Zealand shows are on sale from Thursday 1 September via Ticketek (Wellington) and NZ Tix (Auckland).
