A woman was shot with an air gun in front of her eight-year-old daughter in Mt Roskill on Tuesday night.

She was taken to hospital early Wednesday morning but has since returned home.
A witness to the incident said her family was still fearful to go outside following the early morning scare.
The witness who wished to remain anonymous also had young children in her home.
Loud screaming was followed by sounds of gunfire, she said.
