An actor facing sex charges has won his battle to maintain name suppression.

The man has pleaded not guilty to four counts of indecent assault and two of unlawful sexual connection.
In the Auckland District Court this morning his lawyer, Ron Mansfield, told Judge John Bergseng that naming his client would leave him unable to work until the trial, which could be a year and a half away.
Crown lawyer Kirsten Lummis acknowledged the naming would cause hardship but said she did not believe it met the threshold required to keep the man's identity secret.
However, Judge Bergseng disagreed and continued suppression.
The man will appear again in March.
