Ten new cases of Covid-19 have been found in managed isolation and quarantine since Wednesday, with no new cases in the community, the Ministry of Health says.
There was no media briefing today. In a statement, the ministry said the seven-day rolling average of new cases detected at the border was four.
The ministry announced in its last update on Wednesday it would move to reporting cases only every two days, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
The ministry said 52 previously reported cases had recovered, after some recovered cases who had been discharged from a managed quarantine facility had not had their status updated from active to recovered in reporting systems.
This meant the number of active cases had dropped to 55, with total confirmed cases at 2088. The ministry said all positive cases were managed appropriately and there was no risk to the community. It said it had worked with public health units and ESR to ensure it would not happen again.
The number of historical cases, 39, had not changed since the last update, the ministry said.
Meanwhile, businesses are desperate for a decision on a trans-Tasman bubble soon as they navigate through a year of closed borders and lockdowns.
RNZ understands the plan is to have a safe travel zone in place between Australia and New Zealand in place by the end of April.
More than $140 million has been paid out to businesses in the latest version of the wage subsidy scheme.
The ministry is reducing the frequency of updates to every two days - Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday - unless there are any significant developments or new community cases.
More to come...
