WW2 shell destroyed on Wallis and Futuna

Mine clearance experts have destroyed a shell in Wallis and Futuna, which dated back to the Second World War.

According to the public broadcaster, the old shell was discovered at the end of October.

After securing the site, a French demining team based in New Caledonia transferred the shell to the landfill at Vailepo, where it was exploded.

The shell was left behind by US forces.
