Rural Women New Zealand is concerned about a predicted 24% shortfall in health workers in the next decade.
A Ministry of Health report is predicting a shortage of more than 23,000 regulated health workers by 2021.
It says those shortages will threaten people's access to health services, especially in rural and provincial areas.
Rural Women says it wants to know what impact the shortages will have on its communities.
It says people are very concerned about what services might be cut .
The organisation's health spokesperson, Kerry Maw says if there are cuts, it hopes there will be proper transport and accommodation allowances to ensure access to a full range of health services.
Ms Maw says Rural Women wants to work with the Ministry of Health to make sure there are measures to safeguard people's access to services.
