Co-ordinating leaders will be one of the main challenges for the Cook Islands in its efforts to achieve the UN sustainable development goals.

Parliamentarians from Pacific countries met in New Zealand (last week, Wed 28th Sep) for a workshop on prioritising sexual and reproductive rights in the sustainable development goals or SDGs.

The Cook Islands Speaker of Parliament Niki Rattle says its national strategic plan is aligned with the SDGs which include eliminating poverty, gender equality, and climate action.

But she told Daniela Maoate-Cox not all the national leaders involved have the latest information.
