A major thoroughfare in Christchurch was blocked on Monday morning for about an hour after a crash between a car and truck.
The crash happened at the intersection of Brougham and Selwyn streets, just before 11am.
Hato Hone St John said one person was transported to hospital in a serious condition.
By 12.30pm the road had reopened to one lane.
