A mountain biker has been found dead after going missing in Coromandel.
Police and volunteers have been searching since the early hours today in Whangamatā after receiving a report the person was missing around 1.30am.
Police expressed their condolences to the person's family and friends and also thanked all those who took part in the search.
The death will be referred to the coroner.
