The state owned Fiji Ports Corporation Limited has paid the government close to US$1 million dollars in dividends for the 2005 financial year.
The company says the dividend payment was due to newly implemented reforms and represents 50-percent of the after tax profit which was agreed to between the company board and the government.
Fiji Live reports the company had only paid US$285,540 in dividends the previous year.
