The New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) has suspended three more vehicle inspectors from issuing Warrants of Fitness after finding some vehicles may have been incorrectly passed.

Nassir Habib from the Auckland-based company Rosary Limited has been suspended for wrongly issuing a warrant of fitness to a vehicle with structural damage, and failing to properly inspect critical vehicle safety systems, such as the brakes.
Manurewa Auto and Tyre Centre and its vehicle inspector, Litesh Gounder, have been suspended after admitting to falsifying brake test records.
David Gundry from Whangarei-based A-1 Auto Spares and Repairs has been issuing warrants of fitness to vehicles with non-compliant modifications and serious rust problems.
NZTA is now contacting about 3539 vehicle owners to tell them to get their vehicles re-checked as soon as possible.
